Honda unveiled the 2013 Honda Accord Coupe Concept yesterday in Detroit. The new concept has been completely redesigned inside and out. The aggressive look of the Accord Coupe concept can be attributed to a new hood design, a new front bumper with circular LED fog lights and new headlights.

The back of the Accord has newly designed taillights and dual exhaust pipes. We’re not sure what design changes will actually make it to production but we hope most of them do.

The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe concept will be the ninth generation of the Accord lineup and will be available in a number of different models. The 2013 Accord Coupe will have a 2.4-liter, 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC® four-cylinder engine developing 181 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. You’ll be able to choose either a 6-speed manual transmission or a newly developed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

A more powerful V6 version of the Accord Coupe 2013 will have a 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC, i-VTEC V6 engine. Honda will sell the 2013 Accord Coupe with the Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology, which will be available for the automatic versions of the model. A Hybrid model with a 2.0 liter, i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine will also be available. Honda claims that the 2013 Accord Coupe will have a range of 10-15 miles in city in the electric-only mode, at a top speed of 62 mph.

We can’t wait to see the final version parked in our show room. We’ll make sure to post any production updates and photos to our sites and Facebook pages. Once we have an actually launch date we’ll let everyone know when the first one arrives. Hopefully it’s a red V6 model!

Beginning December 31, 2011, Manitoba car dealers must provide consumers with information about a vehicle’s history. This includes information such as: prior damage by fire or flood, former use as a taxi, police car or rental car or whether it was written off or had significant repairs done.

This information has to be clearly written in the sales contract and you should be told about it before you sign.

Consider buying from a registered dealer.

Avoid curbsiders – imposters who pose as private individuals but are actually in the business of selling damaged or defective cars to unsuspecting consumers.

Private citizens selling their own vehicle are not required to disclose information about the vehicle’s history.

Buying from a registered dealer provides increased consumer protection.

If you have any questions about consumer protection when buying a vehicle, please contact the Consumer Protection Office at 945-3800 in Winnipeg; tool free in Manitoba at 1-800-782-0067; or via email at consumers@gov.mb.ca.

Over the last month Winnipeg Honda and every other store in the Dilawri Group filled a vehicle in their showroom with donations for Winnipeg Harvest collected from both staff members and customers.

On Monday December 19, 2011 the Dilawri Group’s very own Santa lead the convoy of vehicles to Winnipeg Harvest and dropped off the results of their hard work just in time for Christmas.

We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the Dilawri Feeds Winnipeg campaign. Next year let’s double the amount of food we raised.

Chrysler performed better with its new models such as the Chrysler 200, Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Chrysler brand moved up in the survey however its ranking is based on just two models.

General Motors dropped after an improvement last year as did the Buick and Cadillac brands. Chevrolet held its position and GMC dropped one spot.

The upper levels of Consumer Reports’ survey continued to be dominated by Japanese models which took the top nine spots. The Japanese models were led by Scion, Lexus, Acura, Mazda, Honda and Toyota. 96% of the Japanese models that Consumer Reports had data for rated average or better in predicted reliability. 24 Japanese models earned the highest rankings.

The biggest improvement came from Mazda which moved up eight spots from last year. All of its models were rated above average.

It will be difficult, it’s true. Hours will be spent trimming and combing and their wives’ and girlfriends’ patience will be tested, but at the end of the month, we will have contributed to an extremely important cause.

We’re doing this because 4,400 men die of Prostate Cancer in Canada each year and one in six men will be diagnosed during his lifetime. Those are some serious statistics. We all feel passionately about this cause so we’re asking you to support our efforts by making a donation to Prostate Cancer Canada.
